Background
Celsius Energy is a renewable energy initiative from Schlumberger Ltd., a global leader in oil and gas, and we’ve had the pleasure of working closely with HexaGroup’s creative team over the years. Celsius Energy focuses on harnessing geothermal energy to heat and cool buildings, cutting carbon emissions by 90 percent.
Objectives and Challenges
When we first collaborated with the Celsius team, we took the time to fully understand their goals for branding and messaging. As an international team with a global audience, they needed to clearly communicate a technical solution, such as star drilling, without losing the heart of their message – a commitment to providing cost-effective, sustainable, and simple solutions for building heating and cooling. This is particularly important since buildings account for 25% of global greenhouse gas emissions.
We worked on both short and long-form versions of the company’s story, emphasizing its core values and brand promise. Since climate change is a worldwide issue, it needed to be conveyed to a variety of audiences, from architects to real estate agents to town councils.
The Celsius team also asked us to design a new website that conveyed the company’s updated branding, showcased its parent company’s century-long experience in the energy sector, and detailed their sustainable climate control solution.
Execution
I focused on updating copy for an improved user experience, matching the new design with the refreshed brand. Originally, Celsius had drafted content in French, and as an international marketing group, I ensured that the website’s messaging was consistent in both French and English. I worked hard to maintain the same conversational tone and Celsius’s trademark style across both languages.
I also worked quickly to implement phase 2 of the website for a special event, meeting an aggressive two-week deadline.
