Smart Sourcing Content Audit

Strategic Content Research & Repurposing for AI-Powered Hiring Solutions

Background

Indeed lacked a centralized content repository, clear articulation of employer pain points, and bottom-funnel asset ideas. As a result, content teams and campaign managers struggled to scale strategic messaging and provide resources that guided employers deeper into the hiring funnel.

I conducted this audit for all of the products. Here is the Smart Sourcing product example.

Approach

As a Content Strategist, I immediately went to work addressing the disconnect between Indeed’s Smart Sourcing capabilities and its employer-facing content. With no centralized content repository, vague articulation of pain points, and little bottom-funnel coverage, the challenge was clear: build a strategic content system that showcases Smart Scourcing’s value and guides employers through the hiring journey.

Here’s how I led the project:

  • Conducted a Sourcing Scope Audit
    • Research, Reviews+ employer-facing content and hiring tools
    • Categorized assets by AI matching, automation, engagement outreach, and data integration
    • Filtered duplicates and isolated unique resources tied to key sourcing challenges
  • Mapped Industry Trends & Pain Points
    •  Researched and Analyzed Q1 2025 US Labor Market data to identify the top hiring blockers:
      • Manual applicant screening
      • Slow time-to-fill for niche roles
      • Outdated ATS profiles
      • Cold outreach inefficacy
      • Disconnected tools and poor ROI visibility
  • SEO Review & Competitor Analysis
    • Conducted a full SEO audit of existing content and landing pages
    • Benchmarked Indeed’s Smart Sourcing visibility against competitors
    • Identified keyword gaps, backlink opportunities, and under-leveraged content themes
  • Built Strategic Linkages Between Content & Solutions
    • Connected content assets directly to Smart Sourcing use cases like AI-powered matching, workflow automation, personalized candidate campaigns, and integrations across ATS platforms
    • Created structured tables that showcased how each solution solves a specific employer challenge
  • Proposed a Modular Repurposing Strategy
    • Recommended new formats like eBooks, webinars, demos, and role/industry-specific one-pagers to scale content consumption
    • Developed a flagship Q2 asset: “A Strategic Guide for HR Leaders Navigating Talent Scarcity with AI-Driven Sourcing”
    • Suggested verticalized breakouts (e.g., Manufacturing sourcing guide) to support specialized needs

  • Content Audit: Audited 50+ employer-facing resources from Indeed, categorizing them by sourcing scope, automation, AI matching, and outreach tools.
